News about kareena

The FIFA World Cup 2010 to take place in South Africa between June 11 and July 11 is the biggest event in the world sporting calendar. And all eyes are on it. Bollywood music composers Salim-Sulaiman will be composing a song and performing live at the opening and closing ceremonies of the gigantic sporting event with South African singers Loyiso Bala and Eric Wainaina.

However, the coup actually is the news that Bollywood’s reigning diva Kareena Kapoor is in talks with the FIFA event managers. Insiders say that Bebo, who has a very tight work schedule, is actually taking time off for a music video for the FIFA event alongside Hollywood hottie Matt Damon.

It is indicated that the action around this music video is big, with the budget surpassing anything that Bollywood has ever seen or done before. And besides apni Bebo, other Hollywood superstars who will participate in the video are Kevin Spacey and Jessica Alba.
Kareena, who is participating in the last day shoot of Karan Johar’s remake of Step Mom at a Mumbai studio, is said to be currently working out her dates, costumes and other details with her core team. “Expect an announcement with all details shortly. The Hollywood-Bollywood relationship is getting stronger with each passing day. And this video could well be one of the majorly touted ones since it carries heavyweights from both sides,” said an insider.

Celine pregnant with twins!

Canadian pop diva Celine Dion, the biggest-selling female artist of all time, is pregnant with twins.

Her publicist Kim Jakwerth said the singer was 14 weeks pregnant. The pregnancy follows a miscarriage and several unsuccessful in-vitro-fertilization procedures, the Canadian media said.

The 42-year-old and her 68-year-old husband-cum-manager Rene Angelil have a nine-year-old son. They have been trying to have another baby for some time.

People magazine quoted Angelil as saying: "Celine is hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing."

Dion has been on break from the music world to have a baby.

She is the top earner of of the decade with $747.9 million from albums and concerts, according to Ultimate Top 10 list of the Los Angeles Times. She has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide.

The youngest of 14 kids born into a poverty-stricken musical family in Quebec, Dion was guided to greatness by her husband, who sold his house to finance her first album in 1981.

The album went on to become number one in Quebec province, paving the way for her stardom.

Eventually Dion and Angelil became lovers but kept the affair under wraps fearing it will be frowned upon because he was 26 years older than her. But they married in 1994.

Abhishek's news

Bollywood is known to be a male-dominated industry. So it’s rare to come across an actor who accepts that his leading lady is better than him in the promos of their forthcoming movie. We’re talking about Abhishek Bachchan who happily acknowledges his father Amitabh Bachchan’s comment on the Raavan theatrical trailers.

“My father turned to me, patted me on the back, and said, ‘Well done.’ Then he added, ‘But Aishwarya is better than you,”’ Abhishek says with a smile when asked what was the best compliment he has received since the promos went on air.

He insists that he never tries to compete with his wife. “She’s one of the best actors we have in the industry and her work speaks for itself. I don’t need to compete with her or anybody else. My only competition is I, me, myself,” he asserts. “If I haven’t improved on my last performance, then I don't deserve to be an actor.”

Quiz him on his apprehensions of playing a negative character and Abhishek dismisses the thought: “As an actor I’ve never paused to ask myself if this role was good for my image or my career. I’m sorry for any actor who thinks that way.”

‘I would have played a tree’
He points out that when a director of the calibre of Mani Ratnam asks an actor to do a film, he can’t say ‘No’. “He’s the best filmmaker we have and you’d be a fool to refuse him. Even if he wanted me to be a tree in the backdrop, I’d do it because he’s a friend,” says Abhishek.

He goes on to say that he has always approached his career on an emotional level and has never been good at strategising. “I do what my heart tells me to do. If my heart is not in the job, I will never be able to be completely honest,” he points out. “Hey, half the time I don’t even think that it’s my wife I’ve been paired with! It doesn’t matter because on the sets I’m not Abhishek but the character I play. Sarkar Raj was our first film together after marriage, and it didn’t even have a romantic angle.”

He’s quick to negate the impression that doing a film together is like going away on a holiday. “It’s not,” he reiterates, “The director, his script and the characters we play come first rather than who’s opposite you.”

'Even today people call me Gurubhai'
At the music launch, Abhishek said that Mani Ratnam was re-launching him again. His career took a turn for the better after Yuva. Ditto Guru. And now he’s hoping Raavan can turn his fortunes again.

“You are remembered by the work you do. I’m lucky to have a director like Mani. The films I've done with him will always be remembered,” asserts Abhishek. “I walk down the road and even today people still call me Gurubhai, though nowadays it’s what an idea sirji. Mani gave me Lalaan Singh (Yuva) when no one was giving me work. Now he’s given me Beera. I hope he’s thinking of me for his next film too. Mani, I have the dates too.”

Agent Vinod is larger-than-life: Saif

Kurbaan may not have done well at the box office but Saif Ali Khan has no time to look back. The actor is all geared up for his upcoming project Agent Vinod, which he says is an "ambitious and larger-than-life".

The film, his second home production after Love Aaj Kal, will see him pairing opposite real-life love Kareena Kapoor once again.

"The film belongs to a genre from the 1970s. Its shooting is in Europe, Delhi, Morocco and the pre-climax in Pakistan," said Saif, who was in the city alongwith actress Chitrangada Singh.

Dressed in a black coat and blue denims, Saif looked relaxed and the actor, who became one of the youngest Padma Sree winners, reveals that he has slowed down pace of his life.

"I took a good break for sometime. Right now, I am excited about life because my life is in my control. Yes, everything is happening for me, good films, an award and ads," said Saif, who intends to do a romantic comedy in near future.

On the controversies which tend to surround him, be it the Padma Shri bestowed on him this year or his irritable bouts with the media, the 39-year-old actor says, "whenever the government gives any award to me, there is a controversy..."

"I started when I was 19, now I am 39 and over the years, I have mellowed down and have stopped reacting to news. I am mature enough to handle things".

Chitrangada, wife of ace golfer Jyoti Randhawa, will be seen in Sudhir Mishra's Dil Darbadar, for which she has taken guitar lessons as the role demanded.
